CCTV Systems

A well-designed CCTV system does two jobs. It deters people from attempting a break-in in the first place, and it captures clear evidence if something does happen. The emphasis is on well-designed, because a badly positioned camera with poor image quality is not much use for either purpose.

We design and install CCTV systems for homes and businesses across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Mid Wales.

SYSTEM DESIGN:

We do not sell cameras off a shelf and leave you to work out where to put them. Every system starts with a site visit where we assess the property, identify the areas that need monitoring, consider lighting conditions at different times of day, and design a camera layout that covers the important zones without blind spots.

For homes, this typically means covering the driveway, front door, rear garden access points, and any outbuildings. For businesses, the requirements might extend to car parks, loading areas, entrances, reception areas, and perimeter boundaries.

CAMERA TECHNOLOGY:

We install high-definition IP cameras that produce clear, detailed images in daylight and at night. Modern cameras include features such as infrared night vision for clear footage in complete darkness, motion detection that can trigger alerts to your phone, wide dynamic range that handles challenging lighting such as a sunlit entrance next to a shaded area, and weatherproof housings rated for outdoor use in all conditions.

REMOTE VIEWING:

All the systems we install include remote viewing capability. You can check your cameras from your smartphone, tablet, or computer, wherever you are. Most of our customers tell us this is the feature they use most. Being able to glance at the cameras when you are away from home, or check who has arrived when the motion alert goes off, provides genuine peace of mind.

RECORDING AND STORAGE:

Footage is recorded to a local recorder (NVR) at your property, with options for cloud backup if you want additional security. We will advise on the appropriate storage capacity based on the number of cameras and how long you want to retain footage. Most domestic systems retain 30 days of footage as standard.

MAINTENANCE:

CCTV systems are relatively low-maintenance, but they do benefit from periodic checks. Cameras can shift position over time, lenses can get dirty, and firmware updates keep the system secure. We offer maintenance visits to keep your system performing at its best.
