How Our Installation Process Works

If you have not had gates or security systems installed before, it is natural to wonder what the process involves. Here is a step-by-step overview of how a typical project works with Simply Secure.

STEP 1: INITIAL CONVERSATION

It starts with a phone call or an enquiry through our website. We will ask a few basic questions about your property, what you are looking for, and where you are based. This helps us understand whether we can help and gives us enough information to arrange a site visit.

STEP 2: FREE SITE SURVEY

We visit your property to see the site first-hand. We take measurements, assess ground conditions, discuss your requirements in detail, and talk through the options. If you want automation, we assess the best system for your gates and site. If there are any potential complications, such as underground services, tree roots, or access restrictions, we identify them at this stage.

The site survey is free, and there is no obligation to proceed. It typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the complexity of the project.

STEP 3: QUOTATION

After the site visit, we prepare a detailed quotation covering everything included in the project. We break it down so you can see what you are paying for, and we explain any options or alternatives. If we have recommended a particular approach, we explain why.

We do not use high-pressure sales tactics. Take the quote away, think about it, and come back to us with any questions. We are always happy to talk through the detail.

STEP 4: DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE

Once you have accepted the quotation, we finalise the design and place the order for manufacture. If you have chosen bespoke gates, we confirm the final design drawings with you before manufacture begins. We will give you a realistic timescale for delivery and installation.

STEP 5: INSTALLATION

On installation day, we arrive at the agreed time and carry out the work to the specification discussed. For a typical gate installation, this includes setting posts, hanging gates, fitting hardware, and installing any automation and access control.

We aim to complete most residential installations in a single day, though larger or more complex projects may require two or more days. We will let you know the expected duration in advance.

STEP 6: COMMISSIONING AND HANDOVER

Before we leave, we make sure everything is working properly. For automated gates, this means running the system through its cycles, testing all safety devices, checking force levels, and ensuring the access control is programmed correctly.

We walk you through how to operate the system, explain the maintenance requirements, and hand over all documentation including manuals, safety certificates, and warranty information.

STEP 7: AFTERCARE

Our relationship with you does not end when we leave site. We offer annual servicing packages, safety testing for automated gates, and breakdown response. If something goes wrong or you need advice, pick up the phone and we will help.
