Equestrian Gates and Fencing

Secure, Safe, and Designed Around Horses

Equestrian properties have requirements that standard agricultural gates simply do not address. Horses behave differently to cattle and sheep. They are flight animals that can panic at sudden movements or unfamiliar objects. They test fences and gates with their weight, their teeth, and their remarkable talent for finding the one weak spot in an entire boundary. And they are valuable animals whose owners rightly expect a high standard of containment and security.

Our equestrian range has been put together with all of this in mind. Every gate and fencing system we supply and install for horse properties prioritises safety, security, and practicality in equal measure.

Paddock and Field Gates

Paddock gates need to be strong enough to contain horses, smooth enough that they cannot catch themselves on projections or sharp edges, and easy enough to operate that you can manage them while leading a horse. That is a combination that off-the-shelf farm gates often fail to deliver.

Our equestrian field gates feature rounded edges and smooth welds to eliminate snag points, secure latching mechanisms that horses cannot open (and believe us, they will try), heights and rail spacings designed to prevent horses from getting legs caught, and robust construction that handles the inevitable leaning, rubbing, and general abuse.

Available in galvanised steel and treated timber, in widths from single horse gates up to full paddock entrances for vehicle and horsebox access.

Yard and Stable Gates

Livery yards and stable complexes need gates that combine everyday convenience with solid security. Our yard gates are designed for frequent use by people, horses, and vehicles throughout the day, while still providing the level of security needed to protect horses and equipment overnight.

We supply and install single and double yard gates, stable block access gates, isolation and quarantine gates, and arena entrance gates with suitable ground clearance for surfaces.

Automated Entrance Gates

For livery yards with multiple visitors, riding schools with a steady flow of horse owners, and private properties wanting to control access, our AgriGate automated systems are an excellent fit. Remote control access means you can open the gate from the yard without leaving what you are doing. Intercom systems allow you to vet visitors before letting them through. And timed access settings mean regular clients can come and go during specified hours.

The key consideration for equestrian automation is operation speed and noise. A gate that slams open with a loud motor will frighten horses being led or ridden nearby. Our systems use quiet operators with smooth, controlled movement specifically to avoid this problem.

Post and Rail Fencing

Post and rail remains the gold standard for equestrian boundaries, and for good reason. It is highly visible to horses, provides a solid physical barrier, and looks the part on any equestrian property.

We supply and install traditional three-rail and four-rail fencing in treated softwood and hardwood, with options for curved rail systems around arenas and paddock corners. For properties that want the appearance of timber with reduced maintenance, we also supply composite post and rail systems.

Security for Equestrian Properties

Saddle theft, horsebox theft, and even horse theft remain genuine concerns for equestrian properties. We provide comprehensive security solutions tailored to the specific layout and risks of your yard or paddock, including automated entrance gates with access control, CCTV systems covering yards, paddocks, and access routes, perimeter detection for overnight security, and intercom systems with remote monitoring capability.

Our security recommendations are always based on a proper assessment of your property. What works for a busy riding school with public access is very different from what suits a private stud farm with a single entrance.

Areas We Cover

We work with equestrian properties throughout Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, the West Midlands, and Mid Wales. This part of the country has a thriving equestrian community, and we are proud to have built a strong reputation among local yards, riding schools, and private horse owners.
