Maintenance & Repair

An automated gate is a mechanical system, and like any mechanical system, it performs best and lasts longest when it is properly maintained. Regular servicing catches minor issues before they become expensive failures, keeps safety devices functioning correctly, and ensures your system complies with current regulations.

We provide maintenance and repair services across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Mid Wales. We look after every system we install, and we are also happy to take on maintenance for automated gates that were installed by other companies.

ANNUAL SERVICING:

Our standard annual service covers a thorough inspection and maintenance of the full gate system. This includes checking the mechanical operation of gates, hinges, tracks, and rollers; testing and adjusting the motor, control panel, and drive mechanism; inspecting and testing all safety devices including photocells, safety edges, and force limitation; lubricating moving parts; checking electrical connections and control wiring; testing remote handsets, keypads, and intercom systems; carrying out a force test and recording the results; and identifying any components that are showing wear and recommending replacement before they fail.

The service visit also provides an opportunity to discuss any changes to your requirements. If you have had building work done that affects the gate operation, or if you want to add access control features, we can advise on options.

BREAKDOWN REPAIR:

If your automated gate stops working, we offer a responsive repair service. We carry common spare parts on our vehicles, and in many cases we can diagnose and fix the problem on the first visit. For less common parts, we will identify what is needed and return to complete the repair as quickly as possible.

Common issues we deal with include motor failures, control board faults, damaged safety devices, misaligned gates, and problems caused by storm damage or impact.

SYSTEMS INSTALLED BY OTHERS:

If your automated gate was installed by another company and you are not happy with the service you are receiving, or if the original installer is no longer trading, we can take over the maintenance. We will carry out an initial assessment of the system, identify any safety or compliance issues, and set up a servicing schedule.

We are sometimes asked to assess gates that were installed without proper safety devices or documentation. If your system has gaps, we can recommend and carry out the necessary upgrades.
