Bespoke Gate Design
Gates designed around your property
Sometimes the right gate for your property does not exist in a catalogue. An opening that is a non-standard width. Ground that slopes in an awkward direction. A specific design that reflects the character of your home. That is where our bespoke design service comes in, whether you arrive with detailed sketches or simply know you want something special.
No compromises on size, style, or functionality.
We work with customers across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Mid Wales to create gates designed and built specifically for their property. We produce drawings for your approval, oversee manufacture by our fabrication partners, and handle the installation, including any automation or access control.

Start from a design, or from scratch
Choosing a bespoke gate design allows you complete freedom to personalise every element. These seven are the ones we are asked for most often, and every one of them is a starting point rather than a fixed product: taller, wider, a different top, a different infill, a different colour.

Size and colour
These are the sizes and colours we are asked for most often. Neither is a fixed range: the last option in each is your own, so a gate can be made to any width and height, and finished in any colour.
Popular sizes
Our gate designs are available in the following sizes, and in any other size you need.
Colours
You can spec your gates in any of these, or a colour of your own.

What can be bespoke?
Essentially everything.
- Size and shape non-standard widths, and a top rail shaped to the opening or to ground that slopes.
- Material aluminium, wrought iron, mild steel and timber, on their own or framed together.
- Colour and finish any of the colours above, or one matched to something already on the property.
- Decorative detail family crests, house numbers, decorative panels, or elements that reference the architecture of your property.
- Locking and access the locking mechanism, the automation type and the intercom system.
Bespoke does not have to mean complicated or expensive, although it can be both if that is what you are after. Some of our most satisfying projects have been relatively simple designs that just needed to be a non-standard size, or that incorporated one particular detail that made all the difference.

How the process works
- It starts with a conversation. We visit your property, look at the site, and talk through what you want to achieve. Some customers arrive with detailed sketches and specific ideas. Others know they want something special but are not sure where to start. Both are fine. Our job is to listen, advise, and translate your requirements into a practical design.
- From there, we produce drawings for your approval. We can incorporate specific features such as family crests, house numbers, decorative panels, or design elements that reference the architecture of your property. We will also advise on materials, finishes, automation options, and anything else that affects the final result.
- Once the design is agreed, the gates are manufactured by our fabrication partners. We oversee the build process to make sure the finished product matches the specification exactly.
- Installation follows our standard process: professional post work, precise hanging, thorough finishing, and full commissioning of any automation or access control systems.

How long does it take to make a bespoke gate?
Bespoke gate projects can take several weeks from design approval to installation, depending on complexity and materials. We will provide clear timelines during your consultation.
If you need a gate sooner, our ready-made range is in stock with no quote to wait for.
What should I tell you before the first visit?
Roughly how wide the opening is and whether the ground is level, the look you want, the colour, and whether the gate should be manual or automated, with an intercom or a keypad.
None of it has to be exact. If you are not sure, that is what the survey is for, and it is free with no obligation. Send an enquiry or call 01952 740308.
Can you make a gate for a sloping driveway?
Yes. A bespoke gate can have a top rail shaped to the opening or to ground that slopes, as well as a non-standard width.
Where the ground slopes away from the entrance, a sliding gate can also be the practical choice. See our estate and commercial gates and sliding gate automation.
What is a bespoke gate?
A bespoke gate is designed and built specifically for your property, rather than chosen from a catalogue. It suits openings of non-standard width, awkwardly sloping ground, or a specific design that reflects the character of your home.
We produce drawings for your approval, oversee manufacture by our fabrication partners, and handle the installation, including any automation or access control.
What parts of a bespoke gate can I customise?
Essentially everything. You can choose the size and shape, the material (aluminium, wrought iron, mild steel and timber, alone or framed together), the colour and finish, and decorative details such as family crests, house numbers or decorative panels.
You can also choose the locking mechanism, the automation type and the intercom system.
What sizes do your bespoke gates come in?
A bespoke gate can be made to any width and height. The sizes we are asked for most often are 80cm x 200cm, 100cm x 240cm, 100cm x 280cm, 100cm x 300cm, 200cm x 300cm and 250cm x 350cm.
If your opening is a standard size, a ready-made gate from our shop may be a quicker option.
What colours can I choose for a bespoke gate?
You can specify your gates in black, grey, white, dark blue, dark green, burnt orange or deep red, or a custom colour of your own.
We can also match a colour to something already on the property. See finished examples in our work, or read about finishes on our aluminium gates and wrought iron gates pages.
Which gate designs can I start from?
Our seven most requested designs are the Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Newport, Llangollen, Wenlock and Walcott gates. Every one is a starting point rather than a fixed product: it can be taller or wider, or have a different top, infill or colour.
You can also bring a photograph of something you have seen or a sketch of your own. Send us an enquiry to get started.
Are bespoke gates expensive?
Bespoke does not have to mean complicated or expensive, although it can be both if that is what you are after. Some of our most satisfying projects have been relatively simple designs that just needed a non-standard size, or one particular detail.
Every bespoke gate is quoted individually after a free, no-obligation survey. See how our installation process works.

Tell us what you have in mind
The more you can tell us, the more useful the first visit is. None of it has to be exact, and none of it is fixed.
- The opening roughly how wide it is, and whether the ground is level.
- The look one of the designs above, a photograph of something you have seen, or a sketch of your own.
- The colour one of the eight, or a colour of your own.
- How it should work manual or automated, and whether you want an intercom or a keypad.
If you are not sure about any of it, that is what the survey is for. It is free and there is no obligation.
