Description
A blank 50mm square metal post with no pre-drilled holes. The short 500mm and 960mm lengths bolt down to a hard base. The 1500mm, 1800mm and 2350mm lengths go in concrete. Drill it on site and put the brackets where you need them.
50mm gate and railing post sizes
- Bolt-down: 500mm (for railing panels) and 960mm (for fence panels)
- Concrete-in: 1500mm and 1800mm (low gates and fence panels) and 2350mm (tall gates)
- Flat top with a plastic cap insert, or a ball top welded on. The ball adds about 50mm to the overall height
Construction and finish
Electro-galvanised, then powder coated black. The galvanising is not a 100% rust-proof guarantee, so touch up any chips in the coating with paint.
What’s included
The post only. Brackets, gate and fixings are separate. Screws and wall plugs are not included, and nor are the bolts for the bolt-down lengths.
Posts and fixing
You need to drill the post on site to fit the brackets. Burbage does not recommend hanging a gate on the 960mm bolt-down post unless the concrete base is strong, because the turning force of the gate tends to loosen the bolts. Choose a length that suits your ground, especially on slopes.
